Being a biotech company, Hazel Technologies employs a large amount of scientists and post-harvest produce specialists who spend much of their time conducting trials to test and improve the products with different crops.
The most successful of those trials are turned into case studies, which can be used in marketing materials.
Previously, case studies were either in a high-level overview format like a one-pager or trifold brochure, or they were detailed in a powerpoint presentation. The team wanted to create a document that felt more like a white pages case study, that could be downloaded as a digital document or printed to use at meetings with potential customers.

After synthesizing the trial data down to the key takeaways, I worked with the R&D team and post-harvest scientists to set up a clear narrative. The first spread of the document acts as a high-level overview and can be used as a stand alone one-pager. The remainder of the document takes a deep dive into the expanded trial.

This template has been used for table grape, anjou pear, honeydew, cantaloupe, and lime trials. It has been a successful in-depth analysis of the trials regularly conducted by the team, and allows the work they did to be seen by new areas of the business.
The template has been such a success that it has lead to an increase in previously skeptical customers deciding to try the product and is in the process of being applied to all marketable trials for Hazel's compatible crops, totaling over 30 fresh fruits and vegetables.
